IBWU Foundation , IT BEGINS WITH U, (“IBWU”) is a not-for-profit Organization and registered Charity, registered under the laws of Canada and having its principal office at 800, Petrolia Road, Unit 16, North York, Ontario, Canada. And by extension, It Begins With You Foundation, Nigeria, a non Profit registered in Abuja, Nigeria, with its office at 1st Floor, 3 Ubiaja Crescent, opp. Tantalizer, off Ladoke, Akintola Boulevard Garki II, Abuja, Nigeria.
The Olorunsheyi Foundation, is a non for profit registered By Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria as an institution for national sustainability in Nigeria, which creates intervention through Education, Wealth Creation and Community Health and having its principal office at 77, Oduduwa Crescent, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria.
IBWU Foundation’s, “ONE TALENT” initiative, in its simplest form is IBWU’s Women Empowerment Initiative, which supports the belief that you empower a community when you empower a woman.
In partnership with the Sunday Olorunsheyi Foundation , IBWU’s ONE TALENT, in Mopa, Kogi State, Nigeria, seeks to train 100 economically active women from the area, in the vocational trade of sewing/fashion design, modern/traditional cloth weaving, gele making, make up workshop, JI and Zee for washing pot and liquid soap making.
At the end of intense training sessions with experts, lasting 8 weeks, the women are awarded certificates and endowed with the skill-set not only to open up their own businesses but also to thrive at it. The women are also taught business and accounting skills, profit and loss, and setting up their own businesses as part of this initiative.
IBWU has already completed several ONE Talent Initiatives in Enugu, Kaduna, Uyo and Benue State, where over 500 women were trained and certified.
