iBWU Foundation, in partnership with Kemi Irinoye Foundation, is set to host the Ibadan Cleanest School Project, an initiative aimed at promoting cleanliness, good hygiene practices, and environmental sustainability among public secondary schools in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The project is designed to encourage schools to maintain clean classrooms, hygienic washrooms, and well-kept school grounds while promoting a lasting culture of environmental responsibility among students and school administrators.
The grand finale, scheduled for Thursday, November 5, 2026, will take place at Ibadan Grammar School, Molete, Ibadan. Twelve shortlisted schools will compete for prizes based on their cleanliness standards and sustainability plans.
The participating schools will be assessed on classroom cleanliness, washroom hygiene, and the general condition of their school environments. The top 12 finalists will also present sustainability pitches explaining how they intend to maintain their hygiene standards and keep their school environments clean over time.
Four schools will emerge as winners, with cash prizes of ₦1,000,000 for the first position, ₦750,000 for the second position, ₦500,000 for the third position, and ₦250,000 for the fourth position. The prize money is intended to support further improvements in school sanitation, hygiene, and environmental management.
Through this initiative, iBWU Foundation and Kemi Irinoye Foundation seek to encourage students and school administrators to take greater responsibility for their surroundings and make cleanliness an everyday practice rather than a one-time activity.
The Ibadan Cleanest School Project reflects the importance of providing healthier learning environments where students can learn, grow, and develop habits that benefit their schools and communities.
By recognising and rewarding schools that demonstrate a commitment to cleanliness and sustainability, the project aims to promote positive change across public secondary schools in Ibadan, Oyo State.
