Community Sanitation & Water Project in the Takalafiya Community, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja Nigeria
IBWU in collaboration with a Community in Abuja called Takalafiya based in the rural district of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Nigeria, and through IBWU’s initiative for Growth & Sustainability with a partner called Environmental Focus, sponsored a trigger assessment event on Saturday, February 22, 2020.
In addition, IBWU also constructed a mechanized borehole that now provides clean water to cater to the Takalafiya Community. This project was handed over to the community on March 20, 2020, at a ceremony where IBWU and its partners secured the community commitment through a signed engagement agreement with the Leaders of the community to ensure that the borehole is maintained.
IBWU will engage a follow up to see that the community lives up to its promise of maintaining the facility provided for the benefit of its people. Here are some pictures and videos that tell the story of the execution, completion, and handover.
